To
the Clergy ofthe Diocese of Fredericton RE: Primate's World Relief and Development Fund 20 October 2005 Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I was privileged to attend the October 15 diocesan PWRDF workshop. Parish representatives attending returned from this beneficial workshop renewed with new vision and resources with which to communicate to your parish the vision and mission of PWRDF. Please take time to hear what they have to share and to support them in their efforts. The following are some important points we considered concerning the ministry of PWRDF: 1. Donations need to be sent to Synod office or directly to PWRDF in a timely fashion as in some instances matching funds from CIDA and other agencies is time limited. 2. Representatives are encouraged to work in teams or small groups to accomplish their goals of informing, consciousness-raising, and fund-raising. 3. You and your representatives and indeed all parishioners are encouraged to stay abreast of local, national, and international initiatives by accessing the PWRDF website http://www.pwrdf.org The diocesan PWRDF page is http://anglican.nb.ca/pwrdf/ with information of a more local nature. 4. The diocesan coordinator, Betty McNamara, is only a phone call away at (506) 327-6524 or at bm at nbnet.nb.ca 5. PWRDF staff are available to talk with any Anglican at any time whenever a question arises that needs clarification or any information is needed. http://www.pwrdf.org or contact Yvonne Lane at ylane at pwrdf.org The toll free phone number is 1-866-308-7973. There is a call to love each other as God loves us. When we step forward in faith we know that by helping others, even though we feel the need to “fix the roof,” we are doing what God commands. When we engage in any activity for the love of God it generates a spiritual energy that grows and spreads to the whole church community. Nurturing this spirit of mission we encourage a vital part of our life with Christ. This does not always have to be about money, it might be as simple as standing up for the rights of others, writing to your MP about Making Poverty History, or simply being involved in telling the good news about how PWRDF is making a difference. My thanks to Betty, our Diocesan Coordinator, and her committee for their efforts in arranging this important event. Yours sincerely in Christ, ![]() Claude, Bishop of Fredericton |
