Companioned
Spiritual Formation
It is with much excitement that I introduce you to a new diocesan initiative “Companioned Spiritual Formation.” As stated in the attached brochures “The Christian journey is to be shared. The Spirit works not only in the lives of individuals but also in the Church, shaping it into the Body of Christ. We are intended to be one another’s companions on this pilgrimage.” This initiative has already
seen “Companions” begin to journey together in our Diocese in a more
intentional way. Spiritual Formation begins with our baptism and should
continue as an intentional relationship building process with God for
our whole life. It requires of us as Children of God to reach out to
those who can point, encourage and walk with us as we seek a deeper
encounter with the Living Christ.
The Companioned Spiritual Growth Team is there to encourage you to take that intentional step. “[This] can happen in many ways - a guided retreat over several days, a guided quiet day, finding a spiritual director. Growth is always based on trusting relationships.” The Team is equipped to get you started. On behalf of the Team, I am asking your Rector to distribute this letter and to display the enclosed brochures for your information. Please look to your Rector and the contact information to assist with your questions. Dates of upcoming events will be posted shortly. A Fellow Companion in Christ, + Claude Miller (The Rt. Rev.)
