Diocesan stewardship conference a 'stunning' event

by Ana Watts

A New Day, the diocesan stewardship conference held in Sussex on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 16 and 17), inspired New Brunswick Anglican lay leaders, blessed Archbishop Claude Miller, and stunned Bishop Edward Salmon. All morning and into the early afternoon, Bishop Salmon stressed the importance of the stewardship of the Gospel and the stewardship of ordained and lay leadership. Like every other stewardship expert who has been to the diocese, he stressed the stewardship of money is only one part of the stewardship story.  Read the story.

How do you naturally connect with God?
What is your personal spiritual style?

Author Christian A. Schwartz, who is an inspiration to the Rev. Ed White who addressed this year's clergy conference, starts people on a fresh journey of spiritual growth by helping them discover their personal spiritual style. He will lead a Maritime session on Natural Church Development, transformational health and growth, at Highfield Baptist Church, 290 St. George St., Moncton, on Nov. 16. Registration is $50, includes the full-day seminar, lunch and a copy of his book on Passionate Spirituality.

Email woes at Church House
General Synod Web News
Oct. 14, 2009

General Synod offices in Toronto have been experiencing email problems since late last week which might have delayed reception of emails sent to employees and departments. The sources of the problems were multiple and complex—in the words of IT manager Mariana Bell "a perfect storm." We are hopeful that these email issues have now been resolved, although there will be another shorter outage on the weekend to put the finishing touches on the fixes. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences.
