Choir school commemorates golden anniversary

with memories and medallions

By Marje Harrison

In this, the golden anniversary year of the Choir School, we are looking for Choir School memorabilia. If you have old Choir School photographs or bulletins, we would love to see them, especially if they are from the Choir School years at Camp Medley. We are also interested in your Choir School stories and fond memories.

Some of you have already shared your Choir School experiences and secrets. We know of at least one “first kiss,” but we’re sure there must be more romantic stories out there. We recently had a Choir School blessing of a wedding that took place in England the previous spring!

Please help us to add to the great history of Choir School. Send your memories to me, Marje Harrison (corgi at nb.sympatico.ca), or to the school (choirschool at anglican.nb.ca) or visit our website. We would love to have your memories and memorabilia by the beginning of Choir School 2007 on July 1.

Our 50th anniversary celebrations began in the new year with wonderful evensong services in Fredericton, St. Stephen, Rothesay, Moncton and Woodstock. (The picture above is from Rothesay.) Our last service is at St. James, Lakewood in Saint John on June 3. Please join us for this very uplifting service.

And don’t forget, anyone who ever attended Choir School is entitled to receive a medallion. Visit the website or contact Lynn Mills the librarian and archivist (506/488-1103). She will have a record of when you attended and will know what colour ribbon you should get.
