Cathedral puppeteers offer workshop
by Beverly Morell
In response to numerous requests, the Cathedral Puppeteers are pleased to offer a puppet ministry workshop on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Cathedral Memorial Hall in Fredericton.
The Cathedral Puppeteers have traveled throughout the diocese for 10 years. Wherever they go, they are asked: “How do you start a puppet ministry?” and “How can we get our group to the next level?”
This workshop is in response to those queries.
In the photo above is one of the Cathedral puppets and his friends from Belize. They illustrate the international ministry of the Cathedral puppet troupe.
Puppet ministries have become increasingly popular over the last few of years. This ministry keeps teenagers involved in the church and allows them to be active in meaningful ministry. The puppet group can also become a faith support group for young people. Puppeteers spread the message of God and His love for us through the medium of puppetry – something that appeals to old and young alike.
The November workshop is designed for either adult leaders or adult leaders and their puppet teams. There will be sessions on how to start a ministr, how to develop scripts, how to put together a presentation, how to manipulate puppets, were to get materials for the ministry, choreography, music and much more.
The cost is $5 per person. The Cathedral Hall is located at 168 Church Street in Fredericton. For more information, contact me, Beverly Morell at (506) 454-6495 or (jamorell at nbnet.nb.ca).
