V.   ADDITIONAL MINISTRY ACTIVITIES:
In addition to traditional ministerial duties, Archdeacon Miller’s ministry as an Assistant Curate and Parish priest involved community and ecumenical participation and outreach. These ministries included active involvement in local Ministerial Associations, Bathurst Community Volunteer and Food Bank initiatives, Parish of Kingston Senior’s Complex, and Chaplain to Bathurst and Kingston Legions. During years 1988-2000 he has participated in the life and ministry of the Diocese, involved as chair and member of the Diocesan Youth Committee; member of the Board of Program; Vice-chair and member of Board of Finance; member of the Property Committee, Diocesan Council, and Executive. Served as a delegate to Provincial Synod and attended conferences as Diocesan delegate to Canadian Council of Churches; Stewardship & Planned Giving; and National Consultations on Financing for the Future. As Executive Assistant to the Bishop, Archdeacon Miller has been intimately involved with "Action Teams" that have worked to facilitate the Diocesan Vision as defined by the synods of 2000 and 2001: including Lay and Clergy Christian Formation & Spiritual Growth, Stewardship Education Action Team, Concern for Struggling Parishes, etc - planning, finding resources, presenting and facilitating conferences and workshops; working with parishes in visioning, partnerships, and interim ministries. He is Chair of the Bishop’s Vocational Chaplains Team and is completing a three year term as member of the Board of Governors of A.S.T.. Administrative support for the Bishop has been Archdeacon Miller’s primary focus during the past three years. In this position he has participated in the administrative and program life of the Church throughout the Diocese at all levels.

VI.   OTHER ACTIVITIES AND PERSONAL INTERESTS:
Prior to ordination Archdeacon Miller had many years experience in civil engineering, real estate appraisal, development, property management, and as voluntary chair in municipality planning advisory. He has held executive positions with the NB Society of Certified Technicians and Technologists and the Appraisal Institute of Canada, nationally and provincially.

His recent Doctor of Ministry project paper entitled "Companion Spiritual Growth" outlines a diocesan-wide project focusing on the area of spiritual formation in the traditions of Spiritual Direction, Spiritual Companionship and Mentorship. His hobbies and interests include reading, study, carpentry, woodworking and refining his computer skills. Claude is married to Sharon. They have two daughters and await their third grandchild.
